The project’s overall objective is to strengthen ASEAN member states (Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia and the Philippines)’ counter-terrorism capabilities in four main areas namely: (a) counter-terrorism legislative frameworks; (b) law enforcement and judicial capacity; (c) international and regional cooperation on terrorism; and (d) preventing/countering violent extremism that may lead to terrorism.
