The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased effectiveness of the Government of Colombia’s reparation process policies, with a special focus on prioritized cases, including women; (2) increased effectiveness of Government of Colombia’s implementation of the Transitional Justice Process, including increased access to women; and (3) increased effectiveness of the Government of Colombia’s decision-making process, especially where communities have been affected by armed and social conflict.
Belated reporting that should have been included in the 2019-2020 2nd Quarter report: The end date is postponed to September 30, 2021 and the value is increased by $2,250,000 CAD.
The Peace and Stabilization Operations Program (PSOPs) is an integral component of the Government of Canada’s toolbox to prevent and respond to conflicts and crises abroad. It supports rapid, effective, whole-of-government coordinated responses to a wide range of challenges and serves as a valuable instrument for supporting stability in conflict-affected regions. PSOPs provides visible and concrete assistance in response to conflicts and crises abroad through targeted programming, the deployment of Canadian police officers (in partnership with Public Safety Canada and the RCMP) and civilian personnel, and direct support to the UN and multilateral peace operations, conflict prevention, mediation, and peacebuilding efforts.
