This project supports Inuit participation in the 17 Wing Indigenous Reconciliation Gathering at CFB Winnipeg to strengthen relationships between Department of National Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces and Inuit communities.

Through cultural sharing, education, and dialogue, it is expected to promote reconciliation by increasing
awareness of Inuit history, culture, and contributions, including those of Inuit veterans and serving Canadian Armed Forces
members. The initiative aligns with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action #57 on educating public servants about Indigenous peoples. The event will also contribute to the building and maintaining established relations between Department of National Defense and the Canadian Armed Forces, Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg, 17 Wing Winnipeg, and Manitoba Inuit Association and the broader Inuit community through mutual learning and cross education.
