Funding from the Defence Engagement Program will support the research design consisting of focus groups to probe women’s decision-making process and experiences during operations, as well as a half-day policy Working Group. In doing so, this design will contribute to a larger project, responding to the question, “what are the factors that influence the deployment rates of women in NATO operations?” and, “do institutional barriers hinder women’s deployment more than variables like self-selection?”.
