Description:
Funding will support research and development to identify solutions to National Defence’s Challenge: Faster, Stronger, More Secure: Advancing 5G capabilities and concepts for defence and security. The Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces (DND/CAF) in collaboration with Canada’s academic and defence & security communities are seeking to stimulate the application of advances in technologies for 5G and beyond to defence and security problems focusing on: Architectures for Defence and Security Operations, Assured Performance and Security, and Applications and Sensors.

The Department of National Defence solicited proposals to support the creation of small Innovation Networks, called micro-nets, to stimulate collaboration and innovation. The expected results are the development of a critical mass of researchers, highly qualified personnel, and expertise within the Canadian innovation community dedicated to advance research on 5G technologies and beyond applicable to the defence and security of Canada.
