Description:

This project aims to raise awareness about sexual violence and available supports within the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) community in Renfrew County. This includes creating a Project partners committee, which will bring together various base and sexual violence experts to collaboratively identify diverse outreach strategies and tools for Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Petawawa. The Renfrew County Sexual Support Rape Crisis Centre will also develop and implemented a targeted outreach strategy to reach survivors and on-base service provider to raise awareness of the services available for survivors and to increase capacity on-base to respond effectively to disclosures of sexual violence

Expected Results:

(1) Those impacted by or at risk of GBV are better able to cope with the effects; (2) CAF community members who are affected by sexual assault are able to access a wider range of specialized support services; (3) SACs are more integrated within the CAF network of support services to survivors of sexual assault
