The key objectives of the CWDP are to: .• Support community workforce planning by bringing together community-based organizations to develop a plan that identifies local sources of labour, local employers looking to hire, and the skills required to meet demand;.• Connect employers and training providers to help displaced workers develop skills through training and work experiences to facilitate transitions to emerging and growth areas; and,.• Support employers to fill jobs in demand that contribute to stimulating economic growth

The expected outcomes of Community Workforce Development Program are: .• Funding recipients’ stakeholders and project participants’ improved awareness of community plan to transition workers to employment opportunities in growth areas .• Improved participating employers’ knowledge of training plans to meet their organizational needs .• Jobseekers and workers have access to training and wraparound supports to pursue new job opportunities .• Project participants gain access to work placements with employers in local communities, including wraparound supports and wage subsidies .• Project participants have improved work-related skills after participating in training and work placements .• Re-employment and deployment of workers to emerging and growth areas .
