Description:
The Canadian District United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners (UBC) project will provide and test pre-employment and skills development supports. This project will focus on foundational and transferable skills training such as literacy and essential skills or the Skills for Success Model, and provide wrap-around supports such as counseling, income supports, transportation, and work-appropriate clothing. The UBC, through Sisters in the Brotherhood (SIB), will work with employers to improve access to employment and retention in the workplace for women in trades.
