Program Purpose:

The Canadian Apprenticeship Strategy (CAS) provides funding to encourage Canadians to explore, prepare for, participate and succeed in apprenticeship and careers in the skilled trades. It also aims to encourage the
development of innovative approaches to improve apprenticeship outcomes, including improving the
participation and success of equity-deserving groups, and enhancing employer engagement of apprentices.
The Investment in Training Equipment Stream (formerly UTIP S1), a stream under CAS, aims to improve the quality of training of apprentices in Red Seal trades. The stream supports projects that demonstrate a need for training equipment or materials that meet industry standards or investments in new technology to train apprentices in the Red Seal trades.
