The objective of the WIL Initiatives is to drive systemic change in the skills development system at the PSE level, to effectively align technical, foundational and “work-ready” skills of PSE students with the skills required by Canadian employers – demonstrated by an increase in incremental and sustainable WIL opportunities in sectors targeted by the program; and the continuation of collaborative and innovative partnerships. .

Expected Results:

The expected outcomes of WIL Initiatives are; create new incremental and meaningful WIL opportunities (e.g. co-ops, internships, capstones, real-world business problem solving) for students in all disciplines;. PSE institutions and employers work collaboratively in supporting WIL opportunities for student groups that are traditionally under-represented including, women in STEM, Indigenous students, Persons with Disabilities, and newcomers; as well as first-year students; and sustainable and innovative partnerships are established with key stakeholders...
