The key objectives of the CWDP are to:
• Support community workforce planning by bringing together community-based organizations to develop a plan that identifies local sources of labour, local employers looking to hire, and the skills required to meet demand;
• Connect employers and training providers to help displaced workers develop skills through training and work experiences to facilitate transitions to emerging and growth areas; and,
• Support employers to fill jobs in demand that contribute to stimulating economic growth

Expected Results:
The expected outcomes of Community Workforce Development Program are:
• Funding recipients’ stakeholders and project participants’ improved awareness of community plan to transition workers to employment opportunities in growth areas
• Improved participating employers’ knowledge of training plans to meet their organizational needs
• Jobseekers and workers have access to training and wraparound supports to pursue new job opportunities
• Project participants gain access to work placements with employers in local communities, including wraparound supports and wage subsidies
• Project participants have improved work-related skills after participating in training and work placements
• Re-employment and deployment of workers to emerging and growth areas
