The objectives of the EPAs are to support engagement capacity in key Indigenous partners who will work with ESDC and First Nations communities and/or organizations to:.•establish joint priorities based on research and analysis.•inform ESDC program and policy design, development and implementation, better aligning them with community needs.•maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with the Department to support reconciliation.

Expected Results:

Over a 10-year period the expected outcomes for the EPAs include:.•Relationships between First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban/Non-affiliated Indigenous groups and the ESDC are strengthened.•Indigenous organizations and stakeholders, their supporting members and elected officials have increasing space and capacity to inform ESDC’s policy design, development and implementation.•ESDC’s policy design, development and implementation are increasingly informed by and align with the needs of First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and Urban/Non-affiliated Indigenous peoples, their governments, communities and organizations.•Indigenous organizations and stakeholders, their supporting members and elected officials are increasingly supportive of ESDC’s policy directions.
