Over a 10-year period the expected outcomes for the EPAs include:.•Relationships between First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban/Non-affiliated Indigenous groups and the ESDC are strengthened.•Indigenous organizations and stakeholders, their supporting members and elected officials have increasing space and capacity to inform ESDC’s policy design, development and implementation.•ESDC’s policy design, development and implementation are increasingly informed by and align with the needs of First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and Urban/Non-affiliated Indigenous peoples, their governments, communities and organizations.•Indigenous organizations and stakeholders, their supporting members and elected officials are increasingly supportive of ESDC’s policy directions.
The purpose of the Engagement Protocol Agreements is to provide financial capacity to key Indigenous partners to support engagement with First Nations Indigenous communities and/or organizations to inform ESDC’s efforts to meet the Department’s mandate.
