Description:
This multi-disciplinary project includes urban studies, community development, public policy, international affairs, engineering, geography, social work and (civil society) non-profit and third sector studies. Through course work and supported community development internships, students will seek to understand both the policy and practical implications of the shift towards citizen engagement and place-based decision-making for social, economic, and environmental sustainability. Students will undertake community and neighbourhood initiatives, plan and implement outreach strategies, and conduct community assessments.
