Description:
The goal of this project is to address the fatal risks associated with opioid use disorder (OUD) while decreasing barriers to care for First Nations, Metis, and Inuit Communities in Urban Sault Ste. Marie and in the First Nations along the North Shore of Lake Huron, where these risks are highest. This project will focus on the one-to-one involvement of a Person With Lived Experience (PWLE), or helper, A Community Wellness Bus and Crisis Counselling team, along with group activities that invoke a spiritual element, which will be cornerstones to this project to ensure the recovery journey goes beyond the physical, hopefully enhancing recovery.
