Description:
This project will enhance outreach and substance use/mental health supports by purchasing a van to reduce barriers for Indigenous clients to access culturally grounded programs and services. The van will connect individuals and families to annual healing gatherings, culture camps, and community events that promote recovery, mentorship, and traditional practices. Activities will include seasonal harvesting and ceremonies, talking circles for addictions recovery, and gatherings for Elders, youth, and families. By improving access, this project will strengthen cultural connection, support wellness, and help address the opioid and mental health crisis in Castlegar.
