Description:
This initiative will develop culturally tailored precare, aftercare and wellness supports for Iskut First Nation members, particularly those living off-reserve . Programs will focus on healing, identity, on-the-land connections, and Elder-informed traditional mental health practices and ceremonies. Youth healing camps, personal growth seminars, and other culturally grounded gatherings will provide mentorship, guidance, and community reconnection. By strengthening aftercare and cultural supports, the initiative will foster long-term recovery and help address the ongoing substance use crisis among Iskut members.
