This project is helping address the need for autonomous vehicles to be constantly connecting to the Internet in order to improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of connected cars. The project is also creating high-skilled jobs in the area.
The agreement value changed from $4,306,401 to $4,010,189.
The ASIP objectives are to:-contribute to automotive research and development (R&D) capacity in Canada;-foster the competitiveness of the Canadian automotive supply chain;-incent high-value, innovative development activities in the middle phase of the technology development continuum (Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 through 7) to position Canadian automotive suppliers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to develop products of tomorrow;-maintain high-skilled jobs; and-support the Government's environmental, and science and technology agendas.
