Grants and Contributions:
This project will bolster efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The upgrades to the plant will implement new and innovative technologies, processes, supply chain and vehicle research and development programs, as a part of Honda's goal to reach zero emissions by 2040. The project will also see the plant in Alliston, Ontario become a leader in hybrid electric vehicle production. This project will maintain 3,750 full-time jobs in Alliston and support jobs throughout Honda's extensive Canadian supplier network.
Please note this update includes a change to improve standardization of reporting across projects. The end date was updated from the end of the work phase of the project (31/03/2026) to the current end date of the contract (31/03/2041). The end date now reflects the entirety of the agreement duration, including the benefit phase and residual audit period. The amendment provides for a 24 month extension.
