Program Purpose:

To address national tourism priorities that are aligned with Canada's Federal Tourism Growth Strategy, driving economic growth and job creation across Canada. Themes identified in the Federal Growth Tourism Strategy include: Growing tourism in rural and remote communities; Boosting culinary and farm-to-table experiences; Encouraging winter and shoulder season tourism; Increasing Indigenous tourism; and inclusiveness, especially for the LGBTQ2 community. Considerations will be given to projects that advance sustainable development or equity and inclusion, such as those focusing on women, racialized communities, Indigenous people, people who identify as LGBTQ2, or persons living with disabilities.
This funding will provide the opportunity to leverage the reach and expertise of national tourism organizations to support pan-Canadian or multi-regional activities addressing challenges facing the tourism sector on its path to recovery. National Priorities Stream objectives include:
Destination development that focuses on unique products and experiences; Geographic and seasonal dispersion to focus on attractions across Canada throughout all seasons; Human resources and skills development; Digitalization; Sustainability; and Market development and export readiness.
