The purpose of the Intellectual Property (IP) Legal Clinics Program is to encourage the development of law clinics within Canadian universities law school, and foster the development of future IP experts by increasing the exposure of university students to IP issues. The program aims to educate and support individuals and businesses needing free or low cost IP education and assistance; to help innovators develop the means to protect their innovations; and to provide free or nearly free assistance to SMEs and start-ups which will enable companies to grow, protect their investments already made, and find new investors.
