Grants and Contributions:
-Increase participation of Indigenous peoples in the development and implementation of domestic and international IP policy and programs;-Enhance Canada's reputation in international fora, including United Nations bodies, such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO);-Increased use of the IP system by Indigenous peoples.
2024/25 to 2025/26,
The Indigenous Intellectual Property (IP) Grant aims to support Indigenous IP awareness and capacity building, to enable participation of Indigenous representatives in the development and implementation of policy and programs at both the domestic and international level relating to the relationship between the IP system and the protection of traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions. The program seeks ultimately to improve the inclusiveness of the IP system.
