The project involves integrated renovation, enhancement and safety improvement at each of the 17 rest stops and rest areas and upgrading of the signage along the entire route. Shelters, tables, benches, trash cans, bike racks, signage posts and signage will be replaced. The surface will also be levelled depending on the materials already in place at the rest areas and rest stops. Users (cyclists, pedestrians, four-wheeled scooter users, joggers, children, adults, seniors, people with reduced mobility, etc.) will feel safe and will be able to take advantage of facilities better suited to today’s needs with shelters, tables, benches, bike racks, repair stations, etc. The experience will be safer and more pleasant, which will encourage users to use active transportation via the La Campagnarde bike path, a 29-km trail that crosses four municipalities in Acton RCM (Saint-Théodore-d’Acton, Acton Vale, Roxton and Roxton Falls) and connects with Drummond RCM (Centre-du-Québec region) and Haute-Yamaska RCM (Estrie region).
