"The project involves assessing the lowest-impact route for the extension of the Promenade Rivia walking/cycling path along the Saint-François River in Drummondville between Voltigeurs Park and the Saint-Joachim district. Description of the concept: • The path will integrate as harmoniously as possible with the surroundings, while making the most of the proximity of the river • The path will be multifunctional and suited to all types of users • The surface will be paved to a width of 3.0 m, with wood on the footbridges • For safety and comfort, street crossings will be minimized, and the route will be physically “protected” when it is located along a roadway The route will be on the east bank of the Saint-François River between downtown Drummondville and the Saint-Joachim-de-Courval district. There will be three main sections: 1. Promenade Rivia between the Traverse Bridge (University Boulevard) and the Highway 20 overpass, Phase 1 completed in 2018 2. Trail in Voltigeurs Park, the most recent phase, completed in the summer of 2021 3. Waterfront sections (3.1, 3.2 and 3.3) between Voltigeurs Park and the Saint-Joachim-de-Courval district, which are the subject of this application"
