"Install a pedestrian bridge and pedestrian light crossings for our newly installed trail system. The RM of St. Andrews has ambitious plans and is currently developing an Active Transportation corridor along Manitoba Provincial Trunk Highway 9 (PT-9). Trail installation started in fall of 2020 and continued in spring 2021 by installing 4 kms of trail from St. Andrews Road heading south to Hwy #27 on the east side of the highway. An additional 4 kms of trail are being installed this spring from St. Andrews Road heading north to Lower Fort Garry Historic site. Another 1.5 kms of trail is planned to be installed in 2023 which will be installed on the west side of the highway from Hwy #27 to Parks Creek which would then put us at the border of West St. Paul, but with the creek in between. West St. Paul is committed to bring their trail system the remainder of the way to the creek on their side. This would then leave the two trails in each municipality unconnected. The RM of St. Andrews is prepared to install a pedestrian bridge over the creek in order to connect the two communities which would then enable the RM of St. Andrews and WSP to connect all the way to St. Clements, as well as Selkirk and provide WSP with the ability to then be connected to the Canada Trail system and all the municipalities to be able to connect to the City of Winnipeg."
