Agreement Value:
$817,130.00
Agreement Date:
Jul 5, 2024 - Mar 31, 2026
Description:
The geometric redesign of Boucher Street between Henri-Julien Street and Resther Street, and including the intersections with Drolet Street, Saint-Denis Street, Rivard Street and Berri Street, is a project designed to reduce vehicle speeds and protect vulnerable road users, in order to increase active transportation in the area. The project is part of a long-term program to improve road safety in the Plateau-Mont-Royal Borough. Boucher Street is a local residential thoroughfare bordered on both sides by major arterial roads such as Saint-Denis Street, St-Grégoire Street and Avenue Laurier East. The borough proposes to proceed with strategies that have been recognized as effective in previous projects for reducing user exposure to collisions, injuries, and improving walking comfort. The proposed intervention aims to reduce risk factors by making pedestrian routes safer, improving visibility between different users, reducing vehicle speeds, widening sidewalks, adding planting pits with trees, reducing on-street parking, improving signage, and reducing the overall volume of vehicles on the street section.
