Agreement Date:

Description:
The Stanley Mission Active Transportation and Pedestrian Safety Plan (ATPSP) will address gaps in the trail network and provide a strategy for developing a healthy, safe, and enjoyable multi-use pathway network throughout the reserve of Stanley Mission #157.
The purpose of the ATPSP will be to:
• Develop a strategy for Stanley Mission to prioritize the development of safe and intuitive multi-use pathway connections between key destinations within the community and to the neighbouring community (Northern Village of Stanley Mission).
• Create a baseline inventory of where members live, the main destinations they commute to, informal desire paths, and areas accessible by walking compared to areas accessible by driving.
• Identify and recognize community priorities around multi-use pathways, roadway design with pedestrians in mind, and safety considerations.
• Inform future development, design, and connectivity of new subdivisions on reserve lands.
• Identify priority projects that Stanley Mission can construct in the years following through capital funding.
The Stanley Mission ATPSP will rely on local support from LLRIB’s Lands Committee. A Project Management Team (PMT) will also be created, made up of stakeholders such as elected officials, lands staff, infrastructure and housing staff, a youth representative, and an elder representative. Community members would be involved throughout the project through in-person and virtual community engagement events.
