Description:
The project will constructing a new effluent pumping station and rehabilitation of the existing gravity sewer main at the City of Brantford’s WWTP at 385 Mohawk St., to prevent the backup of treated effluent into the WWTP, allowing the plant to continue to function during high river levels due to ice jams and heavy rainfall. The existing 1200mm gravity sewer and three manholes located along the existing gravity sewer will be lined and sealed to accommodate pressurized effluent discharge during high river levels.

Expected Results:

The project will reduce the risk of effluent backups and basement flooding by improving the wastewater treatment plant’s ability to discharge treated effluent during high water levels and ice jams in the Grand River.
