Description:
The Notre-Dame-des-Victoires project will create a safe, fun and educational environment for active travel around an elementary school. To achieve this, four sections of street bordering two parks near an elementary school will be completely closed to traffic for the installation of equipment supporting physical activity.
The specifics of the project are as follows: (1) Demineralization of 1,550 m2 of asphalt, (2) addition of 250 m of universally accessible pedestrian pathways, (3) repair and improvement of the pathway lighting, (4) addition of bicycle racks, (5) replacement and addition of inclusive street furniture, and (6) planting of some 30 trees and plants.

Building on the first phase of permanent transit programming, announced in February 2021, the expanded parameters of the CPTF will continue the federal government’s commitment to improve the quality of life of Canadians by creating jobs and economic growth, supporting climate resilience, and building a stronger and more inclusive Canada. Through the CPTF, HICC will collaborate with all levels of government, Indigenous partners as well as stakeholders to deliver world-class, modern public transit and active transportation infrastructure.
