Description:
Kings County is a program that offers an alternative sentencing process based upon a post-conviction and pre-sentence treatment program to eligible offenders that operates under the Provincial Court of Nova Scotia and in conformity with the requirements of the Criminal code, Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and other legislation. This program operates on the basis of a guilty plea with a delayed sentencing process, allowing Judges to exercise their discretion over an offender who has successfully participated in the Program.
