Description:
The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society will provide a culturally-based rehabilitation and reintegration program for Indigenous youth involved in the criminal justice system who are involved with or vulnerable to gangs. Using a restorative justice model, the program will support youth's specific challenges and personal growth and will involve family and community partners. The organization will develop a guide that will educate stakeholders in the community about culturally appropriate and sensitive approaches to working with crime involved youth as well as delivering awareness sessions in schools on the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
