Description:
This multi-year project in BC will develop Indigenous Cultural Safety Training for Municipal police and recruits trained through the Justice Institute of BC, on the impacts of colonization, the barriers, and the challenges Indigenous people face. The course will be developed from Indigenous Elders, Knowledge keepers and communities using trauma-informed practice and will aim to teach about culturally appropriate restorative and traditional Indigenous justice processes as well as history of Indigenous people in Canada including the history and goals of Gladue Principles.
