This multi-year national project will create a multi-pronged program of bilingual education and resources designated to increase knowledge and understanding of the root causes of overrepresentation of indigenous peoples in the criminal justice system. The program will also help judges develop the skills and knowledge to work with Indigenous peoples and organizations in their local regions to identify and facilitate the use of community-led options for addressing crime, including indigenous and restorative justice programs.
