Description:
The project will see the creation of on-line training modules in French legal terminology to complement and support the French Language Institute for Professional Development (FLIPD) which offers an annual one-week intensive training course to justice professionals. The modules will be made available through Jurisource.ca, an Internet portal that provides access to legal and jurilinguistic resources for justice professionals in French language minority communities in Canada. The project will contribute to increasing the capacity of participants to provide French language services.

Program Purpose:

The Access to Justice in Both Official Languages Support Fund is designed to provide resources to facilitate access to justice in both official languages through various means, such as the creation of legal and linguistic tools, workshops and training to bilingual lawyers and stakeholders of the justice system, the development of related training material and the provision of public legal education and information. The activities and projects undertaken pursuant to the Support Fund are aligned with the Government commitments of encouraging the participation of all Canadians in linguistic duality, and in supporting official language minority communities.
