Description:
Under One Sky (UOS) is prioritizing land-based programming capacity for justice-related services, victim support, MMIWG activities, and specialized support for the 2SLGBTQI+ community. The organization will further develop UOS’s capacity to deliver these services, increase organizational understanding of victimization, and enhance UOS involvement in the identification of victim needs. The project will offer culturally focused com-munity wellness programming to encourage connections to culture, community, social support, be-longing, and wellbeing. Under One Sky Friendship Centre's project is called ‘Healing our Communities on Traditional Wa-banaki Land’, which will enable Elders and Knowledge Keepers to do ceremony and create safe places indoors and outdoors to teach and share traditional skills and knowledge. The program will provide safe cultural spaces and belonging for individuals and all community members.
