Description:
This project will work to re-establish and strengthen the role of Indigenous laws. Knowledge will be gathered and shared in traditional camp settings with community, Elders and Justice partners; knowledge will be incorporated into court processes with provincial partners, and two conferences will focus on community-based models of justice and governance. The findings will inform the development of a legal framework rooted in traditional Cree laws and governance systems.
