Description:
The Empowering Victims and Overcoming Harm Project will work within and enhance the Southern Chiefs Organization's (SCO) First Nation Justice Program and provide victim-centered supports to First Nation victims and survivors of crime within 33 SCO member First Nations. It will create an accessible Anishinaabe and Dakota culturally grounded victim-centered framework while providing culturally trauma-informed advocacy and support for First Nation victims and survivors. This will create awareness of victim-centered approaches within the criminal justice system that are grounded in Anishinaabe and Dakota customs, culture and protocols.
