Description:
Through its project titled “Enhancement Of Programing For Black and Indigenous Youth In The Justice System To Address Over-Representation”, the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services aims to increase the capacity and responsiveness of its youth justice system to better address gender-based violence (GBV) and the over-representation of Black and Indigenous Youth in the Criminal Justice System. This project will also continue to empower community-based organizations/communities to address local self-identified current and emerging gaps and needs in the youth justice service system through programming and services that are culturally relevant. Additionally, this project will actively work with Provincial/ Territorial (PT) partners to share best practices on the programs, which in turn will mutually benefit different areas/sectors across the country.
