Description:
Manitoba Justice - Victim Services will establish a Family Information Liaison Unit (FILU) by replicating and building on the existing Family Liaison coordination in Project Devote. Manitoba will increase the capacity to provide coordinated information and assistance to families of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls by providing an additional Family Liaison Contact (FLC) within the Winnipeg Police Service. Manitoba will also travel to consult Indigenous organizations to identify families' needs and gaps in services with a view toward expanding on the FLC model. Manitoba will also hold culturally responsive healing events to support and build trust with families.
