Description:
Native para-judicial services of Quebec: Mental Health and wellness training project will support two in person training sessions. The first training is a 2-day session for all 22 Indigenous courtworkers and will focus on the health and well-being of court workers across the province of Quebec. The second phase will facilitate 3, 2-day, small group training sessions to better work with clients in a crisis situation. The project will include an evaluation after each training session to determine the effectiveness, plus subsequent check-ins for up to a year.

Since 1978, the Department through the ICW Program makes contributions to provincial/territorial governments through bilateral multi-year cost-sharing contribution agreements to support the provision of culturally competent services to Indigenous persons charged with an offence under federal or provincial statute or municipal by-law or otherwise involved in the criminal justice system.
