Description:
The NCCABC will meet with internal and external stakeholders, Indigenous courtworkers, communities and clients to develop a revised strategy to raise the profile of the organization throughout the province in a changing justice environment. An independent consultant will assess the current impact of the NCCABC and develop a strategic plan to ensure NCCABC remains a strong voice for Indigenous Courtworkers and their clients for years to come. The project includes engagement with internal and external partners, the development of communications materials and increased participation in relevant fora such as annual gatherings, symposiums and other justice-related events.

Program Purpose:
Since 1978, the Department through the ICW Program makes contributions to provincial/territorial governments through bilateral multi-year cost-sharing contribution agreements to support the provision of culturally competent services to Indigenous persons charged with an offence under federal or provincial statute or municipal by-law or otherwise involved in the criminal justice system.
