Description:
This project will identify customs, protocols, laws and legal orders by engaging with Elders and Knowledge Weavers; engage the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people; draft Sḵwx̱wú7mesh customs and protocols; collaborate with experts such as legal advisors at the Indigenous Law Research Unit at University of Victoria; finalize and codify Sḵwx̱wú7mesh customs and protocols. The project will carry out research, draft customary and community-based laws, share information with other treaty groups (6, 7, 8) and hold a stakeholder conference to educate on customary laws and practices.
