Agreement Number:
1920-0808
Agreement Value:
$31,697.00
Agreement Date:
Apr 9, 2019 - Mar 31, 2020
Description:
In this project, the Canadian Lesbian and Gay Archives (now known as The ArQuives) will focus on fonds with a national scope that have never been processed or described to Rules for Archival Description (RAD) standards, despite their heavy use. The organization will appraise, physically process, arrange and describe various collections before making their descriptions and finding aids available on the organization’s online databases. Collections to be processed include the Community One Foundation fonds and the AIDS Action Now! fonds.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:

Expected results for this project include the arrangement of materials related to the Community One Foundation fonds and the AIDS Action Now! Fonds. The organization will create Rules for Archival Descriptions (RAD) compliant descriptions for all collections and add these to the Archeion and InMagic databases. These activities will increase awareness of the collections; increase the number of (in-house research) visitors; increase the number of queries; free up space for incoming collections; and improve the organization’s representation of national, provincial, and marginalized-community collections.
