The Dundas Historical Society Museum (DHSM) will digitize a selection of documents (correspondence, legal and financial documents, reports), photographs, plans and publications that illustrate the history of the John Bertram and Sons Co. in Dundas. The organization will select material based on its representation of significant events in the industrial history of Dundas, such as shell manufacturing during World War I and labour unrest during the 1920s and 1940s. The public can access these materials on the museum’s website under “Discover Your Historical Dundas”.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:
The expected short-term results for this project are the digitization of 80 cm (25%) of the John Bertram and Sons Co. fonds (textual records, photographs, graphic materials). The organization will evaluate the project based on the number of items scanned, stored and uploaded onto the appropriate digital platform. The Archivist will supervise the project and, with the support of the Archives Assistant, assess the achievement of targets. In addition, the Archivist will review the description and digitization to ensure the quality of outcome aligns with the Museum’s digitization policies and procedures manual.
