The organization holds approximately 16 meters of accident reports dating from 1910 to 1935. The collection includes official accident reports and any related correspondence filed by company employees. The reports also include information on injuries and fatalities suffered by CPR employees, passengers, and trespassers. In addition, reports include information on derailments; washouts, snow avalanches and rockslides; engine, car, track or bridge damage; and any related reports. One significant report, dated March 4, 1910, relates to the Rogers Pass Avalanche and offers insight into the largest avalanche incident in Canadian history in terms of loss of life.
