This project will arrange, describe, preserve, and make available 150 years of archives created or accumulated by the Cathedral in the course of business and relating to life within the Anglican community in Prince Edward Island.

Expected Results:

Expected results (outcomes) for the project include: (1) 150 years of archival holdings of St. Peter’s Cathedral are available for public use and researchers; (2) clear processes are in place for the management of new archival materials; (3) sustainable on-site and remote reference services are established; (4) a valuable selection of archival holdings is available online for remote access; (5) members of the Cathedral community and the wider population is more engaged with the Cathedral’s history and archives; (6) the archives highlight the history and impact of the Cathedral on the lives of people across province and beyond, including members of indigenous and minority communities; and (7) the Cathedral has a solid, standards-based framework for archival operations, with a Cathedral archivist, a group of trained volunteers in place, and mechanisms for encouraging further volunteer support, encouraging sustainability. Virtual and physical exhibits will attract members of the Cathedral community from around the world over the 150th anniversary and beyond.
