Description:
The organization will digitize, preserve, and provide access to documentation of its media art-related events and activities recorded between 1973 and 2013. The project will include 635 photographic images and audio and video recordings of live performances, media installations, actions, symposia, and artist interviews from its first 40 years. It will include documentation of the annual Signal and Noise Festival (2000-2012) featuring many of Canada's most renowned media artists, and symposia and events that influenced the development of media art on the west coast through those years and beyond.

Expected Results:
This project will digitize and preserve 115 videos (115 Pro Res and mp4), 20 audio recordings (20 wav and mp3), and 500 photographs (500 TIFF and jpg) documenting 40 years of SVES events and activities. Uploading this material to the web will be staggered with the bulk occuring after December 1, 2021. We are targeting 300 engagements (view, likes, shares) on the web and social media and 5 research enquiries to March 31, 2022. The value of this material, however, is its longterm use. By the end of 2023 we anticipated over 800 views online, 20 research enquiries, and materials to be used for exhibition or publication by December 31, 2023.
