Grants and Contributions:
Short-term results include improving accessibility to limited-access collections in the VHEC archives and testimony collections, better quality catalogue records, building skills and capacity in contract employees, building connections with Collective Access users in Vancouver, improved intellectual and physical control over legacy archival holdings described in an aging end of life database, consolidation of data from two systems into one, enhanced searchability.
Long-term results include increased public access to and awareness of our holdings, reduced reliance on aging technology, improved digital and physical preservation of its holdings, increased potential for the research, pedagogical use and exhibition of items which attest to the lived experience of survivors of the Holocaust, and improved relationships and connections with donors and our community.
The Documentary Heritage Communities Program supports the development of Canada's local archival and library communities by increasing their capacity to preserve, provide access to, and promote local documentary heritage.
