Title:
The ArQuives Processing Project: Part 4
Agreement Number:
2021-0019
Agreement Value:
$49,900.00
Agreement Date:
May 19, 2020 - Mar 31, 2022
Description:
This project concerns fonds with a national scope that have never been processed or described to Rules for Archival Description standards despite their heavy use. A project archivist will be hired to appraise, process, arrange and describe the collections, before making their descriptions and finding aids available on the ArQuives website. This will allow Canadians to see the collections held by the ArQuives, including the collections available for research. This project concerns fonds of individuals and organizations who helped to shape Canada’s LGBTQ2+ community and by extension had an impact on Canadian history.
Organization:
Library and Archives Canada
Expected Results:

Results for this project include the physical and intellectual arrangement of 10 fonds: Jearld Moldenhauer fonds, Norman Kester fonds, Robert Haun, Richard Fung, Marnie Woodrow fonds, Alliance for South Asian AIDS Prevention fonds, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre fonds, Gay Fathers of Toronto fonds, Lavender Librarians fonds, and The Women’s Common. After creating RAD descriptions, the organization will transfer material to their online database and promote the collections. Results will include increased awareness, number of visitors, and research inquiries.
