Description:
Through this project, Grand Council Treaty #3 aims to document the history and stories of Manito Aki Inakonigaawin (MAI), the Great Earth Law of the Anishinaabe, in Treaty #3. The project will involve interviewing Elders and knowledge keepers on this sacred law and translating the recordings from Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) into English. This project is being developed in partnership with the Niiwin Wendaanimok Partnership.

Expected Results:

The expected results of this project include the creation of raw copies of interviews with Elders and knowledge keepers about the Manito Aki Inakonigaawin. These raw copies will be used later for integration into a documentary project. These raw copies set out short-term expectations. Longer-term expectations include community access to the interview recordings and integration into the MAI documentary.
