Description:
The objective of the project is to preserve the major collections of photo images held by the Annapolis Heritage Society (AHS) and render them accessible to the public. Deliverables of the project are the development of a group of skilled volunteers, the digitization of the major photo collections, and wide public access to the images. Key activities include training volunteers; digitizing the images; labelling, describing and rehousing images in need; and uploading the images to a provincial database along with related textual information.

Expected Results:

Upon completion of this project, the most significant collections of photographs owned by the AHS will be protected and fully digitized. The images will be augmented by as much meaningful information as is possible. The entirety of these collections will be available to Canadians and the world via MemoryNS, a platform showcasing the holdings of Nova Scotian archives and museums. The citizens of Annapolis Royal and the surrounding area will take great pride in the results of the project.
